My son has weekly phone calls or skype with his dad (non custodial parent, lives out of state). The last few weeks he has outright refused to talk to his dad. Do I have to force him to talk to his dad? The divorce decree includes the weekly calls, but I don't feel it is right to force my son into conversation with his dad if he feels strongly against it. He is 9 years old. His dad has recently refused to do his visitation because he believes it is unsafe to due so (due to Covid), yet there are no restrictions that prevent him from doing it (his personal choice). Our son does not want to talk to his dad until his dad is willing to visit him in person. What should I do? I do not prevent my ex from calling our son and I always answer during the weekly calls, but my son refuses to talk (my daughter has no issue).
