Parents, Divorce And Autism

Marriage isn’t easy and most of us agree that it’s hard work, even difficult. Juggling life is a constant challenge and when you add caring for a child with special needs, the stress can be overwhelming.

In her article “Are Parents of Children With Autism More Likely to Divorce?” posted on Autism Daily Newscast, author Laurel Joss examines this question. While raising a child with autism may not be the primary reason a couple divorces, the challenges that come with the situation certainly can affect issues they may be already struggling with in the marriage and leave them more vulnerable to the possibility.
