Divorced? Having trouble finding a way to communicate about child support? Tired of all the fighting?

Well now there’s an app for that. Several, actually.

According to an article by Beth Pinsker published in The Huffington Post recently, even after the child support payments have been calculated and agreed upon, there are endless other expenses that come up, leaving parents to determine how best to handle them on their own. This can lead to anger, frustration, and fights over not knowing exactly where the money is going.

Instead of calling a lawyer (and paying the associated fees of letting them handle the issues) parents are turning more and more to apps that can help remove the unknowns and give more accountability.

Our Family Wizard, SupportPay, and 2Houses.com are some divorce-specific apps that parents can use to remove the communication barrier from the equation. Even something as simple as Google Docs can help improve the process by giving concrete proof of exactly what the extra money will be used for.

With the financial arguments taken care of, there are still times when parents need to talk. And not via text. “It amazes me how much stuff co-parents try to solve by text. Are you talking about college via text? These are very big conversations, and they take practice,” says Michelle Crosby, CEO of Wevorce.
